Getting to the centre

Getting to the centre

For a visit focused on the historic streets, walking gives you time to take in the town as you approach; driving is the quicker option.

The municipality’s detailed plan of the historic centre shows how the area is divided and organised. It is in force under Article 20 and Appendix B of the implementation rules for the Piano Operativo Comunale, approved by the Municipal Council on 1 August 2022.

Camaiore’s historic centre is the setting for its churches and central landmarks. The Collegiata di Santa Maria Assunta and Chiesa di San Michele are among the named religious sites in town. The Collegiata’s exterior is a useful point of focus while walking through the centre.

For a wider town walk, the route can also take in Badia di San Pietro. Teatro dell’Olivo is another named landmark in Camaiore, though its performances and visiting arrangements are separate from a church-focused stroll.
